To Our Valued Customers:
We are writing this letter to address the issue of the Japan-based raw materials contained in our Midori Greens and Immune Punch.
Our current inventory of Midori Greens was manufactured in May 2010, and our current inventory of Immune Punch was manufactured in April 2010. Therefore, the Organic Matcha Green Tea, Organic Ashitaba and Wasabi in the Midori Greens, and the AHCC in the Immune Punch were not impacted by the unfortunate events that have recently occurred in Japan.
Our Organic Matcha Green Tea is actually the only raw material of these three that is cultivated 100% in Japan.
Also, our Organic Matcha Green Tea supplier has provided us with a statement confirming that there have been no unusual levels of radiation detected in their growing region. This region is 500+ kilometers away from the Fukushima power plant.
The Japanese supplier of our Ashitaba cultivates this raw material in Indonesia (3500 miles away), and then processes it into a powder in Japan. They have also confirmed that their processing facility is 1,000+ kilometers from the power plant, and therefore the material has not been affected by the radiation.
Our Wasabi raw material is cultivated and processed 100% in New Zealand.
The production facility for AHCC is located in the city of Sapporo on Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan. Sapporo is located more than 350 miles from the disaster area, and since it’s on a different island, it has its own port and airport. So, no infrastructure-related disruptions have taken place. The mushroom mycelia (roots) from which AHCC is made are cultivated only indoors in tanks located at the AHCC production plant. So the process does not require the collection of mushrooms from the outdoors, as may be the case with some regular mushroom extracts.
Each of our manufacturers is continually monitoring radiation levels, and will notify us if there are any changes.
So, you can rest assured that we have not and will not produce our Midori Greens or Immune Punch using radiation-exposed raw materials. Also, we are very pleased to know that our vendors' families, loved ones and friends are safe at this time.
